If you've heard or been to Lucky Chinatown Mall near 168 Mall, you probably have passed by the Sincerity Restaurant.
This restaurant is new to my ears. My mom, who happens to like Sincerity's food and service, suggested that we try something new. I am not a fan of Chinese food. Believe it or not, I don't enjoy eating at North Park as much as many people does. But because my mom is going to treat us for her despedida, she gets to choose which restaurant we should eat at. The restaurant had about 15 tables because they really had a small space. Four to five persons would be enough per table. We were lucky enough because there was a vacant table upon our entry. I assumed that the service and the food was good because the restaurant was filled with customers and lines outside waiting for a vacant table. But watch this, Sincerity may sound like a good restaurant name, but not as good as their service.
Normally, a restaurant with an excellent service would greet their customers, lead them to their table/s and hand out their menu/s. But to my surprise, none of what I just mentioned happened in that restaurant. Even our table wasn't cleared from the previous customers' plates and leftovers. None of us (my mom, grandmother and uncle) noticed their poor service just yet because we were so tired from shopping around 168 Mall. But after we discussed about the new items we bought for a good five or six minutes, we noticed that they have not cleared our table yet. So we called a waiter and you know what happened next... But!!! After the waiter cleared the table, none of the service crew handed us a menu yet. >:| So we called the waiter again, asked him if we can have their menu and then we stated our orders. We ordered pancit and chicken something, I don't really know. 10 minutes later, my uncle called for the waitress and asked her politely to serve us water. Another 10 minutes have passed, no water yet. What's taking their water so long? I mean, saan ba sila kumuha ng tubig? Sa kabilang pisngi ba ng mundo? Ugh. So we decided to follow up everything. 10 minutes later, my mom stood up from her chair and served herself a glass of water. She served herself a glass of water. What's the next worst thing that could happen?
Our food came after (thank god no more waiting) 20 minutes. Because we were starved from waiting and from shopping, we dug in right away. The next worst thing that happened? We all noticed the pancit didn't taste well. It wasn't seasoned very well. None of us could taste anything. The fried rice wasn't well done, too. This has really pissed us off. We wanted to walk away but that would be rude. Instead, my uncle called the attention of another waitress so we could tell her how horrible our food was, but she was busy with something else so she made us wait for a few more minutes. We asked a waiter but he was busy too. Need I say more of how much pissed we are? Well, very, very pissed. My grandmother nicely and politely went to the kitchen and asked the manager to come over at our table. We showed her how bad and poor their service and food were. We politely requested that we are no longer going to pay for the bill because we were really unsatisfied. The manager, whose kindness I really adore, agreed and apologized.
I am never going to try to eat at their restaurant again.
